The publication of IRS 80864-6 “Technical Specification – Permanent Way – Supply of steel ribbed baseplates” in March 2024 follows a review of UIC Leaflet 864 with updated references to IRSs and European standards, for track materials, and for the testing and inspection of products.

IRS 80864-6 has been developed as part of the Track Expert Group’s migration of UIC Leaflets 864-4, 6, 7 and 8. A special thanks goes to all the experts and UIC staff involved in producing this new IRS over the past few years, in particular Stefano Rossi (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) and Bernhard Knoll (ÖBB).

The revision of UIC Leaflets 864-6 and 864-7 concludes this second stage of work.
