What is RailData?

RailData is a Special Group of the International Union of Railways (UIC), operating a digital platform for European freight railway undertakings. Its mission is to improve the efficiency and interoperability of international rail freight through shared IT services.

RailData’s Services:

• ISR – Wagon Status and Tracing: A common platform for railway undertakings to collect and exchange information about freight wagon movements in international traffic.

• ORFEUS – Consignment Data Exchange: A central system for the electronic exchange of CIM consignment notes and CUV data between railways, supporting harmonised process for freight documentation processes.

• CoReDa – Wagon Responsibility: A central freight wagon database allowing authorised users to identify the keeper and the railway currently responsible for each wagon’s commercial use.

• ATTI – Handover Quality Management: A central quality management system and database collecting all quality indicators for the handover of interoperable freight trains and wagons between railway undertakings - on behalf of the ATTI Study Group.
